Darjeeling Toy Train 1985

My first visit to Darjeeling took place in November of 1985. At the end of our first trip to India we headed to the Himalayax to see some peaks and to have some relaxing days. To my great disappointment the DHR was not running. However there was some work going in at the Tahindra workshop and I got to take some pictures at Darjeeling station. Railfans might also be interested in the pics of the old Darjeeling ropeway. It took some guts to travel on that rather makeshift installation, but we survived!
