Likir 2020

Likir monastery is about 52km downvalley from Leh. It is located a bit up a side valley from the Indus river. As Alchi it was founded in the 11th century and is ruling over Alchi. The present rinpoche is a younger brother of the Dalai Lama. With 120 monks and 30 students it is quite an important institution.
